Tron Legacy

Ok, after my comments on the last post and what I’m about to say here, I’m really dating myself.

I AM A TRON FAN!

Yes, i saw the old Tron and i loved it. Now I’m really excited to see what the reboot will do.

The new trailer was released at ComicCon and it’s really starting to create some buzz. I’m really a stickler for doing remakes of classics, especially since all the big studio heads only think about money and not about the actual art-form and are most likely going to snip parts away just to make it more commercial, but i am keeping my fingers crossed.

The Son of a King is Making me Look

I’m not a true fan of “modern” rap/hip hop, but i do listen to almost everything that comes out, just in case something catches me and i’ll admit sometimes something just grabs me and right now it’s Diggy Simmons.

Rev Run’s son is busting out. I won’t even waste time writing my review of the song, i’ll just post the video and you decide. For me, it’s hot!

ABC reality show really “Wipesout”

Former DJ, USC graduate and recently married, Tom Sparks, apparently died of a stroke after his stint on the ABC reality show “Wipeout”.

_MG_3100-cropTeamed up with his wife, Katie, he had been trying to complete an obstacle course and complained of knee pain and was experiencing shortness of breath during the event. According to a producer on the show, he was still in good spirit, even stopping to do an interview with the show’s host, but the producers pulled him from the course. Medics then discovered Sparks was experiencing shortness of breath, so he was taken to the hospital.

According to a statement his father released to the Idaho Mountain Express, Sparks died on November 5 of an apparent stroke that his doctors believe was triggered by a pre-existing disease known as antiphospholipid antibody syndrome that causes unnatural blood clotting.

“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family,” ABC and Endemol said in a joint statement. “This is a tragic loss and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

TMZ releases photo of a battered and bruised Rihanna

Photo as it appears posted on TMZ.com

Tonight celebrity gossip site TMZ, released a photo showing what appears to be a “very” badly battered and bruised Rihanna.

Now i have to admit that i’ve been trying to type this up and just watching the photo really gets to me and i was at odds about posting it in an article, but i do think that people should see this.

If indeed his is a photo of Bajan star, then Chris Brown needs to do a lot more than give lip service with an apology.

He should be jailed. The sad thing is that the music world and the fans are so fickle that 3 months from now thousands of girls will be right back at the edge of concert stages grabbing at him.

According to the Daily News, the LAPD  declined to deny its authenticity but issued a stern statement.

“The LAPD does not and will not release any victim’s photos. It’s that simple. We have not” .

Come on Mr Brown, lets hear what you have to say now.

Friday the 13th, Jason and the dumb movie critics

February 13, 2009 by Raymond

2009_friday_the_13th_wallpaper_001Late lastnight staunch horror fans got to taste the newest installment of the Friday the 13th franchise.

First things first, Voorhees is a totally new man (so to say) . Jason comes back with vengeance, if nothing else it seems like the director and producers decided that Jason has been drinking nothing but Red Bull and Monster for the last few years since we saw hi, because he’s moving like a monster on speed.

Now with that said, let’s move on to my pet peeve.

I’m really tired of non horror movie fans who try to critique a horror movie.
For all who don’t know, Friday the 13th is just a slasher flick. It’s not meant to be deep, not meant to have extensive story lines. Jason’s whole purpose is to kill anyone that reminds him of the sex starved, immature, stereotypical teenie boppers that let him die. So of course that’s who you are going to see in the movie. Go rent Much Ado About Nothing or Mansfield Park, that might be your cup of tea.

Plus of course the critics all get their stuff mixed up.

One fool does not like it because it moves away from the original formula…WTF??? Another seems to have gone to the movie with the hopes that Jason has used his downtime between the last movie to now to go to college, get some culture. Who the hell expects that Jason has spent the last few years thinking up of new ways to kill to “inspire” you.

Come on people, just go and enjoy the film for what it is, what it has been and hopefully what it will forever be.

Sorry to disappoint the critics, but i don’t think Jason will be reading up on various killing methods, watching “Saw” or “Hostel” for pointers of debating the pleasures of eating his victims while sipping fine wine a la Hanibal.

BTW Kudos to the critics that got it right.

First American Idol Top 36 contestant booted out without even hitting the stage

February 12, 2009 by Raymond

idol8_joannapacittiauditionLet’s start American Idol with a bang, or rather with a boot.

Fox has announced that controversial American Idol contestant Joanna Pacitti has been disqualified from the show’s eighth season competition.

“It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition,” Fox’s Wednesday night press release announcing the semifinalists said.

An inside source said that Pacitti was dropped to avoid any appearance of business impropriety because Pacitti’s recently revealed friendship with executives from Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment, which co-produces “Idol,” that got her the boot after she failed to disclose it.

Felicia Barton of Virginia Beach, Va., will replace Pacitti.

The show announced the semifinalists Wednesday night, then later released an update saying it had cut Pacitti loose and subbed in Barton, a 26-year-old married mom.

But you know what? I loved Felicia.

So if you are reading this Felicia, good luck and know I’m voting for you.
