According to police officials, James Owen Sullivan (also known as “The Rev” or “The Reverend Tholomew Plague”) was found dead in his home in Huntington Beach, South California yesterday. Doctors are still investigating the causes of his death, but it appears to have been a natural death and no suspect clues have been found at this time. Jimmy was just 28 years old.
Jimmy Sullivan was the regular drummer for his band Avenged Sevenfold. He was also a backup vocalist. They’d been working on their fifth album, but he passed away before he could drum for the latest album. His band has been quoted as having said that not only was he the best drummer, but a best friend and a brother of the band.
Avenged Sevenfold was established in 1999 and was awarded “Best New Artist” from the MTV Music Video Awards in 2006. Fans are beginning to grieve, and it is with heavy hearts and shocking remorse for one of modern music’s most acclaimed drummers.
