Jersey Shore: Season 2?

Fans of Jersey Shore might not be too thrilled to hear about the cast’s latest negotiations with MTV. They’re reportedly in the midst of working out a deal for a second season of the hit show. Ah, but if the cast does agree to a second season, they’ll be heading to Miami to film a spin-off, not Seaside Heights, New Jersey. In that case, a new cast of muscled guidos and poofed guidettes would return to the Shore for a new season of Jersey Shore.
According to TMZ, the original cast is negotiating a deal where each cast member will be paid the same amount for each episode. MTV reportedly offered a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode, but the cast rejected that offer. Now the network is offering $10,000 an episode for a 12-episode second season.
Supposedly MTV has told the cast that they’re prepared to replace anyone who doesn’t take their deal. They are open to adding new people in with the original crowd, and that they already have would-be cast members lined up. But according to TMZ, Paul (“DJ Pauly D”) Delvecchio and Mike (“The Situation”) Sorrentino are the two cast members working the hardest to make this deal.
And in case you’re wondering: Yes, I do blame Michael Cera for encouraging this type of elitist behavior. Really, bro?
When all is said and done, the members of Jersey Shore are essentially petitioning for more money in order to continue being filmed while they: A) go about their public debauchery, B) get trashed and commit “robberies,” and C) make sad attempts at selling t-shirts while they live in a glorified fraternity for juiceheads. Oh, and it’s all rent-free.
On the upside, it might just get Vinny out of his mother’s house… until next season, that is.
