The psychological effect of makeup on women
Women wear makeup for different reasons, it may be to detract attention from flaws on the face or it could be that it’s the norm with all the females in their family or even simply because they just like it. We were taught that makeup makes us look pretty and without it we are perceived as “boring” or “plain”. When our appearance is improved we seem to be more confident and all insecurities seem to fade away.
When applied correctly, makeup is one of the quickest and least expensive ways of enhancing your natural beauty and improving your self esteem. In addition, taking care of your hair and nails also have a tremendous effect on your confidence. Have you noticed that when you wear a new lip color or just had your nails done how quickly other people observe and start to offer you compliments? How does this make you feel? Self assured? Respected?
I admire the way that a wife and mother of two can get to work on time every morning with her makeup done perfectly. Yes it takes some practice to get the timing right but if you can get that look in five minutes, I think its worth it.
All women are beautiful, what you chose to do with that beauty is totally up to you, whether you are satisfied with “au natural” or want to enhance what you’ve got, all depends on individual taste.
Do you think that makeup has a psychological effect on women?
