Victoria Beckham goes heel-less

The Beckhams were in NYC recently to promote the launch of a fragrance at Macys.

Victoria stepped out in style in a Antonio Berardi number. The unusual thigh-high footwear is constructed out of PVC, a durable form of plastic often used to create records, vinyl siding and pipes among other things.

“Having a heel is really just psychological,” designer Antonio Berardi, who created the shoes, told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “They are graceful and there is a ballerina nature about them.”

The shoes have a long sole which supports the arch of the foot, eradicating the need for a heel. Berardi sent the boots down the runway with his Spring 2008 ready to wear collection in March.
