welcome to cafe madeline

Café Madeline is one of the latest cafés to join the Ditmas Park area. The café, named after the owners’ pet dog, is the result of a vision for a “vintage, French art-deco” coffeehouse. Madeline is the third café for owners Sabrina and Alex, who also own Milk Bar in Prospect Heights, and Blue Bird in lower Manhattan.

Sabrina says that they were inspired to buy a restaurant in Ditmas Park after their Prospect Heights customers began moving to the area and alerted them of a lack of good cafes in the area. The two seized the opportunity and purchased the property on Cortelyou Road.

Since the café’s opening in October, Sabrina says she is “quite surprised how people have embraced it.” But the success of this café is no mystery.

Beyond the café’s inviting ambiance, the menu is complete with a mouth-watering combination of fresh salads and sandwiches. And, just like the café’s sister restaurant, Milk Bar, Madeline has an Australian twist to its menu- including everything from meat pies to Australian style ice coffee.

Ultimately, Café Madeline’s décor and food make it fun, delicious and the perfect addition to the Ditmas Park family.

*Be sure to check out the café’s homemade biscuits and baguettes.
